A New Chapter in Boarding at Ipswich School
By UK Education Guide

This September, Ipswich School welcomed its first pupils to a new Boarding House, a carefully designed space that combines comfort, practicality, and a sense of home. More than just a building, it provides an environment where pupils can develop independence, build friendships, and engage fully with school life.

The Boarding House has been designed with both pupils and staff in mind: modern bedrooms, communal spaces, and quiet study areas allow for both social interaction and focused learning. Every detail reflects the school’s commitment to creating a supportive and welcoming boarding experience.

Over 40 pupils from Year 7 to Year 12 have joined the boarding community this term, settling into one of three houses:
Westwood House – for boys
Anglesea Heights – for girls
Anglesea Heights Sixth Form – for older pupils seeking independence and focused study

At the beginning of term, the boarding community grew to just under 100 pupils. Life at Ipswich Boarding is structured yet flexible: pupils follow the rhythm of the school day, share meals and activities, and have time for personal interests and friendships, all within a safe, well-supported environment.

Both Full and Flexi Boarding options are available, reflecting the school’s understanding of the different needs of families today. Regardless of the arrangement, every boarder becomes part of a close-knit community that values care and personal growth. Families interested in boarding are encouraged to contact the Admissions Team at admissions@ipswich.school to find out more.
Creating extraordinary futures – always the same commitment, always the same care.
