A Day in the Life of

A typical day in the life of a CSFC student begins at around 7am, when they wake up, get dressed and eat breakfast with their fellow students in the canteen. There are one to one support lessons from 8am to 8.45am before the first lesson commences at 9am. Students remain in classes until lunchtime with a short coffee break half way through the morning. Lunch can be anytime between 12-2pm. After lunch, students head back to their lessons and the last lesson of the day finishes between 5pm and 6pm depending on the student’s timetable. When the school day has finished, students go back to their boarding houses, which are all single ensuite bedrooms, before gathering together in the canteen to eat dinner.. Later on in the evening, they may decide to go to the gym or swimming pool, take part in one of the many clubs or societies, relax with friends in the common room, do some homework or enjoy some quiet study time in their room. While there is no strict bedtime, the boarding team discourages students from staying up too late so they awake fresh and ready to study. At 10pm all students must leave the common room and by 11pm, students are expected to keep any noise to a minimum. For GCSE students the timings are slightly earlier. On weekends, students go on college outings to local attractions like St Fagan’s Museum of Welsh Life, hike in the Brecon Beacons and Garth Mountain, visit Castell Coch and the Pembrokeshire Coast. Outings are also planned to destinations further afield such as Bristol Zoo, the Palace of Westminster, London theatre visits and theme parks.
