I consider that the facilities are very, as well as the staff. How are you finding the A-level course, and what subjects are you taking? I find my course interesting and challenging. I am taking Physics, Chemistry and Maths. What are your plans for university/career? I am thinking in study Mechanical engineering, about the where I want to study Is Oxford University, however I want to see other universities like Cambridge and University of Manchester.Where are you staying here – in a residence or home stay? What are the best things about your accommodation? Now, I am living in Wavy Gate, that is a student residence. What I like about it is that I have my room where I can have my own rules, but I also have a common Kitchen where I can socialize with my roommates. Furthermore, Wavy have a ping pong table, Where I enjoy playing with my friends. What things do you do outside school by way of activities, and enrichment? Are you a member of any clubs and have you been involved in anything like the Duke of Edinburgh Award, or Business Enterprise? I am involved in Duke of Edinburgh. I am in the Philosophy Club and Chess Club, which I love! Additionally, I joined a local football team. What do you think of Oxford/UK? Had you visited before you started your course? I had already visited the UK, before the course, but never oxford. From my point of view Oxford is a beautiful city that has many things to do, as well as good links with other tourist places, such as London or Manchester. What are the main differences between Kings Oxford and the school you went to in your home country? It´s completely different. In Mexico, the lessons were approximately from 50 to 30 students. Usually there I was going to the school about 6 hours per day, I didn’t have break between my lessons and most of the student weren’t really interested in the school. Additionally, the attendance in Mexico wasn’t really important and to be honest the school was more about memorizing than understanding. Here, in Oxford everything is absolutely different I have passed through a lot of challenges because of the difference between the educational systems. However, those challenges are the reason why I decided to come here, so even though in the beginning I struggled, I am fascinated with the teaching in the UK, I like the that way that I am learning to think. What would you say to anyone considering coming to Kings to study A-levels? The course can be challenging in the beginning, especially if the education in your country is different, but it is worth it to take the challenge. Personally every day I feel more comfortable.
