What will you receive if you complete this form
  • When we receive a completed form from you, we will email you to make sure we have fully understood what you want to know, if anything is unclear.
  • We will also offer you a free online consultation to better understand what you and your family are looking for from a UK education provider.
  • Then we will confirm that the request for information has come from a parent/guardian, not a child (under 16). If this is unclear from the information provided, we will separately email the respondent and ask for a return email copying in a parent/guardian, or ask for added confirmation of the age of the respondent. If necessary, we will then verify the identity of the parent/guardian with a separate email requesting confirmation of this relationship before any further information is sought from the respondent and before any data is shared with any 3rd party (requested school/university). Also, all ongoing communications will be copied to the parent.
  • Following this, we will email the right person within the faculty office of the chosen University or Boarding school admissions department, you want to make contact with, and copy you on the email, so you can see your request has been actioned.
  • The chosen University or Boarding school will then seek your permission (EU regulations, relating to EU data subjects) to send you the information you have requested and will make you aware of their own data protection policies.
  • If you have given permission for the Boarding School or University to contact you (EU regulations, relating to EU data subjects) we will ensure you get a reply from the University or School of interest.
  • We will then follow up with you to make sure your questions have been answered and you feel able to move forwards with your planning.
  • We are happy to provide any further assistance we can offer at any stage of your application process to any UK educational institution featured on the site.

  • Key Information

Malvern St James Girls’ School (MSJ) is a day and boarding school for girls aged 4-18. With around 400 pupils, including 160 boarders, we get to know individual talents and interests, ensuring pupils are each supported to achieve their personal goals and ambitions. Approximately 30% of pupils are international, with boarders accepted from age 7 (Year 3). We do not have a Saturday school or enforced exeats.

At MSJ everything is totally geared for girls; there are no barriers or gender stereotyping. Girls can pursue their passions and interests in the field of their choice, it may be medicine, engineering, politics, sports or expressive arts – all routes are equal. At both GCSE and A Level, our results are outstanding with excellent value added. At A Level (2021), 75% of awards were at A*-A and 90% were A*-B. Girls also achieved superb GCSE results (2021) with 74% of entries awarded 9-7/A*-A grades. The diverse list of undergraduate courses at the most prestigious universities which follow are testament to MSJ’s culture of ambition and achievement.

Not only are pupils challenged academically, they have the opportunity to explore over 100 extra-curricular activities to find what inspires them. From Drama to Law Society, Young Enterprise and Model United Nations, there is something available for everyone. Additionally, girls gain leadership experiences across the school as Form Captains, Digital Leaders, Subject Ambassadors, Eco-champions, Heads of Houses, Sports Champions, Prefects and the Head Girl Team. Our sports provision is superb and includes a wide variety of options including: equestrian, netball, lacrosse, hockey, tennis, swimming, dance, athletics, cricket to name but a few.

Supported by award winning pastoral care, boarding and day pupils can thrive in a safe and nurturing environment which puts each individual at its heart. EAL group support is provided to senior pupils at no additional cost, including IELTS classes for Sixth Form pupils.

MSJ is located in the safe, secure town of Malvern, Worcestershire. Malvern is approximately one hour from Birmingham International Airport and two hours from London Heathrow and benefits from excellent road and rail links, including a direct train line to London Paddington.

A Day in the Life of…

“There really is nowhere else where girls are so wonderfully themselves. At MSJ, girls are encouraged to pursue whatever interests they have, whether that’s in Art, Drama, Sport, Music, Riding, Pottery, Coding – the list is endless!

MSJ is not just a school but a community and every experience is one of growth. The school provides me with wonderful clubs such as Model United Nations (MUN) and Debating Club. These clubs have enabled me to gain confidence in my public speaking and intellectual reasoning. Additionally, MSJ has encouraged me to develop my leadership and public speaking by providing opportunities for me to join conferences such as the Global Girls’ Project. Through these opportunities I have extended my knowledge and thinking on global issues and have developed my critical thinking skills.

I love all my subjects but I don’t think I would love them so much if I wasn’t studying them at MSJ. All of my teachers provide the necessary support and stimulation in order to help me through my studies, as well as helping me to cultivate a deeper interest in my subjects. I am always challenged to be the best version of myself. But even outside the classroom, I never stop learning. A wide range of different activities and societies are on offer for anyone to try their hand at.

Boarding at MSJ is one of my highlights. It is a great way to connect with different people and understand them better and boarding has definitely awakened my sense of curiosity about different cultures and improved my people skills. The friends you make when you board practically become your family and it’s been one of the best aspects of my school experience. I just love knowing that I have friends for life as a result of being here!

What I love most about MSJ is the sense of empowerment it gives me, whether it’s in leadership, the Expressive Arts, Sports or STEAM. I think it is fair to say that MSJ is truly a school where you can be anything and achieve everything! MSJ is an excellent space for growth: spiritual; academic; social; all the kinds of growth you can think of really.”
