HISTORY:
TASIS England, formally known as TASIS The American School in England, is an American international boarding and day school in England.Founded in 1976 by Mrs. M. Crist Fleming, it is the second oldest of the TASIS Schools, a Swiss group of American international boarding schools.TASIS is proud to be a truly international school, with students from over 60 different nationalities and no more than 12% from any one nationality to ensure diversity.
EXTRA-CURRICULAR:
TASIS The American International School in England is proud of its extensive Arts programs, which include Studio Arts, Theatre, Dance, Music, Photography, and Film.
ENGLISH SUPPORT:
Situated at the center of the campus, the English-as-an-Additional Language (EAL) department is an integral part of the TASIS England Upper School.The overall aim of the EAL Program in the Upper School is to enable every international student to graduate fluent in English and prepared to excel at university and in their chosen professions. EAL students will be placed in International Section courses and the EAL course appropriate to their grade and English ability, as determined by the English placement tests.Each year, graduating international students go on to study at prestigious universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, and their own home countries. Our EAL teachers pride themselves on the secure, family environment they strive to create within the International Center. Students who join our program will not only grow academically, they will also learn about themselves and the cultures of others. They will be stretched and challenged and, ultimately, enriched in many ways.
SIZE:
Each year there are about 650 students enrolled at the School and around 190 of these are boarders. TASIS has seven boarding houses where students are cared for by a highly experienced and dedicated boarding team. There is an English-as-an-Additional Language (EAL) Department and a Learning Resource Center on campus offering support to students in the Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School, as well as a University and College Counseling Office and Health Center.
POST-16 QUALIFICATIONS:
School offers the American High School Diploma, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and the IB Diploma Programme. Students go on to study at top universities across the world, including Ivy League in the US and Russell Group in the UK.

TASIS England offers an excellent boarding experience on our 46-acre campus, set in beautiful grounds in Surrey, near London. In our international boarding school program, students (aged 13 -18) have great fun while gaining independence, responsibility, and respect as they share experiences and develop life-long relationships.Approximately half of our Upper School students and some of our eighth grade students live on campus. Our boarding houses are supervised by a caring TASIS England boarding team who are committed to making the residential experience safe, friendly, warm, and enjoyable. With our guidance and encouragement, each student will develop the empathy, resilience, and confidence needed to make their pursuit of academic excellence achievable and fulfilling.
