In 2024 the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) placed the University in the top 7% of
universities worldwide.The University of Central Lancashire was named ‘University of the Year’ at the Edufuturists Awards in
2023.
INTERNATIONAL:
The University of Central Lancashire is home to students from more than 100 countries worldwide.
They offer a friendly, welcoming, and supportive environment for those travelling from overseas to
study.
EMPLOYMENT:
When you register as a student with the University, you automatically gain access to their virtual
careers library CareerEdge, and Handshake, a job search and employer networking tool.
International students who successfully complete their programme are eligible to apply for the
Graduate Route Visa, which allows you to work, and look for sponsored jobs in the UK after you
graduate. The Careers Team can help you search and apply for jobs in the UK or overseas, even after
you finish your studies.
FACILITIES:
There are a wide range of state-of-the-art facilities and equipment located across the Preston,
Burnley and Westlakes campuses.

ACCOMMODATION:
A room in halls is guaranteed on campus for all new full-time students at the Preston Campus.
There’s a range of accommodation options available on all campuses. All halls are located right in
the heart of campus – only a short walk away from your lectures, the Library, our on-campus Sports
Centre, and Preston city centre.The campuses are safe places to live, with low crime rates. To keep you extra safe, the University has
security staff available 24/7 to help with any issues.
COST:
Preston is one of the most affordable cities in the North West to live and work. For example, in
comparison to Manchester, rent in Preston is 35% cheaper and dining out in restaurants is 26%
better value (according to https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/ in October 2024).
There are also several bursaries, scholarships, and financial support packages available to help.
The University was also ranked as the most affordable in the UK according to The Times (2023).
